The head of AIG who was bailed out by the government owns about 10 million of this project at Stowe ski area in Vermont.

Skied many times at Stowe as a youngster John, and was lucky to be close enough to commute, but have no recollection of that mega-faux chalet called the Stowe Mountain Golf Club. When was that built? But I do remember well the original von Trapp Lodge. Beautiful country. :-D

Don, I took Chadd into the Trapp Lodge last winter <a year ago>

They started building at Stowe a few years back and are still building !

Project probably started about 10 years ago with all the permitting you have to have in this state.google act 250 Vermont
the tree huggers don't want anything built and all we have is tourism...go figure

Kinda agree with that as it's such a pristine area - used to be anyhow.

We've not had one of these for a while, so here's a nice period shot of English rider Alan Shepherd on his way to winning the American 1964 250cc Grand Prix on an MZ.

Yes great photo Alan Shepherd 1964 winning USA GP, against the odds, i.e. the Yank's supplying him with low grade pool gas, couldn't have a commie bike winning in those days could we.
Marvellous what a short phone call to Walter Kaaden could accomplish. :D

I'm heading out for a weekend of riding around Vermont. Do you have any road recommendations?

Never been, but always wanted to do the"100-200" bicycle ride when I was still riding.
Gotta be just as much fun on a motor...

The first 3 man super goped 60mph

I got a 50cc scooter from a friend and thought i would do some stretching and lighten
it a little , It still retained the electric start via a foot switch , Had this toy in 2001,would do 60mph and take three people , it was even scarier when you sit on the board lol , So there you go .An 8 foot super goped
