Found a Skorpion Replica

Postby Maximilian » Tue Oct 14, 2014 7:01 pm

Hey all, new to this board, But found something that may be of interest.

A relative passed away recently and while cleaning out his shed, until a pile of used carpeting, I found what appears to be a Skorpion Replica. It's missing the badge on the top of the triple, but the dual exhaust, Marchesini's, big Brembos, and suspension are all there. After a days worth of replacing hoses, draining tanks, cleaning carbs, changing the oil, a new battery, and all the fun that goes along with bringing a bike back, a fresh tank of gas and it fired on the third crank! All the plastics are there, but I've got the lower cowl off for ease of access while I break it back in and fiddle with the idle/mixture and watch for drips.

At this point I'm probably going to keep it and ride for a while, it's a fun little ripper, but I have a strong suspicion that It will start to feel quite small for my 6'2 270lb frame in short order. Any other replica owners out there?

Sorry for the soft focus on the pictures, my phone lives a hard life and the lens gets all scratched up.

San Francisco, CA area. Can't wait for a clear day and a fresh set of tires to get it out to the coast.

Your bike looks great. It may like living here in San Diego.

Cool. I was just out there on my honeymoon last month; your camera makes the photos look like the air did on the PCH while I was there!!!

(Shameless self revival of old thread)

I'm wondering if anyone can give me a ballpark $ value of this bike. It's not for sale, but since I inherited it the lawyers need a number to put on their paperwork. As there's not many out there, I've looked everywhere online and can't fine one either for sale or a sold listing with a price on it.

Condition I'd call a 7/10. Everything's there, but it still need a very thorough cleaning, and the fairings have deep scratches on them.

Search the site "Rare Sport Bikes for Sale" - there has been Replica's for sale in the past. I'd guess $4,000 if you cleaned it up and marketed it a bit. A Sport Cup that was very clean went for about 3k.
