Re: new member. number question (Skorpion Replica)

Postby droy » Mon Jul 28, 2014 9:07 am

I think I'm the only USA Skorpion Replica owner to frequent this forum (until now and I'd be happy to be wrong).

Sounds like a few of the Replicas lost the number plates over the years. I can tell you that there is no factory records to ID the Replica number with the VIN number (I asked while visiting the factory in 2011).

It's was advertised that 250 Replica's would be made but I'm not sure how many actually were built. I'd bet less than 20 made it to the USA.

No major difference between those built in 1996 and 1997/8 from what I can tell.

Happy to discuss further if needed.

well I understand that the R in the VIN number indicates that it's a Replica.

Post up that info/pictures. Love to see it.

Did you recently purchase it? Was it purchased from Blue Moon Cycle originally?

I bought my Tour in 1996 from Zen Moto also. I talked them into being a dealer back then and helped them by buying the first tour they received. They also had a Sport and a Replica. I always wondered who bought that one. I am in Woodstock, GA and still have my tour.

Peadar,

The wheel is a Honda F3 with vf500 (mid 80's) hub and a custom sprocket (VF500 with 39 teeth - standard offset). Also need to 19mm rear axle conversion and a differnt rear brake set up.
