Bike Gremlin

Postby TheHoff » Tue Aug 26, 2014 1:25 am

Hi All,
I have a few issues with my MZ. When in the wet/damp it is tempromental and can cut out , with the odd back fire thrown in.
I am now also having the charging light flickering intermitently, and the neutral light is spuradic? I have checked all connections, fitted a new spark plug, and have a new ignition coil on its way.

Points seem ok but something is a miss somewhere.

The bike also failed to start at all in the dry the other day, I had to leave it after many failed kicks and take the car.

Any pointers would be most appreciated.

Thanks
TheHoff

i would do the water repelling wd40 thing mate,,sound like you're losing your spark intermittently.it could be either at the stator side of thigs or the coil side,,i would check the coil and cap first,,check or cracks in the ht lead close to the head, cracked resister cap, cracked spark plug.
