ETZ 250 cruising speed

Postby JawasandMZs » Thu Nov 26, 2020 1:06 pm

My rebuilt bike now has 700 miles on the new engine and cruises nicely at 4250 rpm in top which corresponds to an indicated sixty mph, probably a genuine 55mph. It will go faster, I'm talking about COMFORTABLE cruising speed. My Jawa has considerably more torque and acceleration. It's a bit disappointing as my old CB250RS used to go along at 70mph in neutral conditions I'm a strapping lad of 16 st.
What are your thoughts on this? Will the MZ carry on freeing-up and getting faster? My Jawa did.

Following a biased and flawed moderator choice (someone posting aggressive personal attacks is rewarded, while my technical posts are removed - behind my back & without any justification!), I have withdrawn from this forum.

I doubt whether you speedo is that far out!
I do remember my Supa5 being happy on motorways at 70-75 (70mph equated to 5,000 rpm)
