Hi, I red all the posts, but I still have a doubt.
I've a Baghira Street Moto, buyed in 2005, but should be the 1999 model.

I've to change my front disk and brakeplates (and also brake pump, seen that Grimeca died after only 18.000km!! And now I'll try to fit an original Yamaha one).
As many Baghira's owners I'm having troubles finding the right parts.. Somebody says front disk should be the same as a XTZ 660(Supertenere)or SZR 660, here I red that can fit R1/6 disks...and I'd need also to know which year, because a couple of dealers I asked to told me that there are some differences.. Before spending a lot o money I'd prefere to be sure about it :)
I would appreciate a lot any indications, so I'll be able to ride soon again my beautiful Baghira on italian streets.

A, a last question: there are big differences between Baghira "normal" and the "Stree moto" version? Again about spare parts..
Thanks!

R1/R6 discs from the late 90s, early 2000s will fit. I bought a three disc set (rear too) from an R6 off ebay for something like $50, so now I have another spare disc too! I want to say the model time frame was something like 1999-2003.

The Baghira came in two models, the "E" enduro, with 21 and 18-inch dirt wheels. The "SM" street moto (and Black Panther) models have 17-inch wheels. Other than a different rear sprocket, kickstand, and speedo drive unit they are the same bike. The E model came in some horrendous rainbow color schemes, the SM seemed to come in calmer themes like red, black (the Black Panther), silver, and yellow. The bike can be easily swapped back and forth from E to SM version..

Spare parts aren't too big a deal. the only "non-replaceable" things are the unique seat and bodywork really. The rest of the stuff is similar to many other bikes, or can just be replaced with similar aftermarket. Mainly you'll need oil, filters, tires, tubes, chain, sprockets, brake pads (and maybe discs..). The Yamaha motor (Noale Italy made?) is pretty bulletproof it seems.

wow, thanks a lot for all the infos!!!

Well, mine is a "SM", cause wheels are 17": is the yellow model, so quite nice.
When my friend bought it had off-road tyres. Then he changed and put two michelins street tyres: i think that at next change i'll put something more "off road oriented".
When i changed brakepads I had no problems finding the spare parts, because i went with the old ones. Now that I'm pretty sure R1/6 are ok, I'll order. Fortunately I had no problem finding right oil and oil filter, so at least the ordinary maintenance is ok. And thanks to this forum if I'll have to change again clutch I'll know wich model ask for: my friend "fried" the old one going with street tyres in the mud, and seen that with yamaha dealer he wasn't sure about the equivalent "original" engine, he had to buy it from Uk, where he found an official seller.

So, I'll let you know if I'll success in my "cure" for my "dear" Baghira.
See you!

Let's do our best to keep this "Interchangeable parts list" going strong. We MZ owners love our bikes and want to keep them running for years to come. From my own experience 1999 Ducati SS750 front turn signals are a direct fit.
Good luck to all, Ed

on the hub it says 3tb, which would make it a part of the 3tb, xt600 1990-95, i compared the parts diagram of the mz baghira to a diagram of an xt600 1990-95, on the mz the speedo is on the left side, on the xt600 e it is on the right side, viewed from the front, the wheel dimensions are the same, i would try to get a used xt600 e drive and try it, michael

unable to upload parts fiche of the mz baghira, if you pm me, i mail it to you

Roger that! and the list is much longer than that. I went down to Ducati, Guzzi, Aprillia, BMW dealer and said "you have any of those square turn signals that Ducati and Guzzi and such used a lot?" Guy pulls out a BOX FULL of them, says "here have one." I took it home and it was exactly the same. And the reason I knew it would work is because it was the same as that on my 1992 750SS!!

Coils,
Have found a place on ebay (germany) that can supply NEW sr500 coils. They are the same part as fitted to most of the rotax bikes CCM's 604's armstrong mt500's and harley mt350, and as far as i am aware all the rotax 504e equipped Mz's (Nippon denso coil), but they have a different connector instead of the three way connector fitted to the Mz ones these have a two point one... so some modification & crimping will be required.

Ariete list the size of the fork seal as 45x58x11, the only other bike I can find listed of this size is the Aprillia Pegaso 650 2005-2007. there is a slightly different size, that may do, 45x58x8.5/11, that fits the KTM 125sx 98-99, and the ktm 200exl 98 onwards. the difference being that its a stepped depth seal to fit under a clip in the slider.

Hi I'm new.ive had a right battle with my baggy I'm looking for a rear brake pedal as I hade a bump on her and bent it outwards.ive heard a yamaha pedal of sorts fit but I'm not sure..I've compared the pictures of some pedals to my baggy and they seem a close match but I don't want to risk paying out if it won't fit for sure..so does any one know of any replacement pedal for the rear brake?
Thank you for your time n sorry for a newb question
