Replacement seat cover for MZ TS 250 (&/1)

Postby Pat the Jawa » Thu Apr 28, 2016 2:35 pm

If anyone is interested I've just had a replacement seat cover made by Dis-Covers for my TS 250/1 and they've done an excellent job. The owner asked me to send him my old cover for him to copy so he now has a template for anyone wanting the same seat cover. I intend on taking pillion so have filled in where the tool box is situated and so my seat cover is complete.

True, but a some people remove the toolbox and refoam the seat so that a pillion passenger doesn't complain as much!

This tool box location looks like a good idea. :smt023

till you realise that this good idea is truly someone else's pain in the ASS

Here in germany the MZ bikes are "Oldtimers" and are treated like that.
So they want them as original as possible. Some weeks ago someone called me and asked for original "Eska" screws that were produced in 1960.You can see it on the "head design" of the screws. Later they changed the design.
So people here restore it up to these screws original.
So this seat cover is far away from original look.
Only a few people would put such a seat cover on their seat .
And the A.. of the passenger is not the drivers problem :-)

I can fully understand anyone wanting to keep their bike totally original but my bike is for riding in comfort and what suits one person may not suit another! As mentioned by the previous posts my wife found the lack of padding on top of the tool box somewhat uncomfortable :-( I specifically asked Dis-Covers to leave out the tool box cut out and they did a lovely neat job considering they didn't have the seat to copy.
