Gold Fren brake pads

So here I am 5 days away from my race weekend and I find out yesterday that my front brake pads are crap..to the point of dangerous. Lo and behold, the previous owner had a set of brake pads in the spares. Alright! Yet when I wen to put them on, the hole size for the pin was too small. But according to the info page on Frens website these are the correct pads. So I simply drilled the hole bigger but it was too late last night to test ride and see if they're good. My question is, what the hell? Why are these supposedly the correct pads yet they don't fit properly. I need to order another pair this morning just in case I go home today and find out these don't work. Plus the Frens pads look nothing like the ones that came off.

The Frens I put on last night...

A set that I can get on Ebay today...

That Frens is not the correct pad for the Skorpion.

That ebay on is correct but I would look for something of a litter better quality(in the front) - I like DP or EBC brand. The MZ uses the same as a lot of other Euro's - easiest to search 1992 Ducati 900ss.

Thank you sir...I was wondering if there was a cross reference. I have a set of EBC's headed my way. You are a life saver (maybe literally!).

David, you are my hero! EBC pads arrived yesterday afternoon and the bike now has amazing brakes. I might not be the fastest guy on track but I try to brake the latest :) Your tip has me back in the game.

eBay can be a dodgy supplier but congratulations on getting it sorted.

If using the bike on the track I would seriously recommend swapping the front Grimeca for a Brembo caliper.

Significantly improves the braking 'feel'.
