Mastiff chain help

Postby awschmidt » Fri Sep 30, 2005 8:44 pm

HELP! My 98' mastiff chain is toast. My weekly adjustments have left me with no wheel travel left. Does anyone know the chain size and length so I can order a new unit? (yes, I'm being lazy and don't want to take it off and measure it)

Thanks in advance

If you have standard gearing your chain is a 5/8 x 1/4 (520) with 110 links. Thats what teh parts book says anyway. I would be tempted to get a chain a few links longer and shorten it too fit.

count the number of rollers
dont make a mistake and get it toooooo short
like i did on the rt125
start at master link and count
measureing the old one with a ruler is a good way to get the wrong length

i know i am running 2 master links on a o-ring chain :-D
