Where to get MZ Engine Protection Bars?

Postby waverider » Mon Nov 28, 2005 2:24 pm

I want to pick up a set like in this thread:

Any ideas?

I called Touratech about the skid plate that they offer and they said up to 6 weeks for it. I am needing something a little faster than that.

Cheers

I have the same one's on mine,

They are an MZ official accessory so you need to order them from a dealer,

Greetings,

I have the OEM guards in the photo and would not recommend them. They fit well and look nice, but, imo, really do not come out far enough for offer protection to the engine in case of a tip over (the cannister is a definite gonner no matter what you use, and the covers seem to still be exposed as well).

Too bad I saw the photos of the Touratech (I saw it after I had already purchashed the engine guards).

The OEM guards were around $150 or $160.

for a skid plate, go to the biggest shop in your area, and ask if you can match something out of stock. I bet an XR or KLR skid plate is close enough..

We have these bars in stock at our shop. Give us a call. They aren't meant to save the engine from tipover but rather from bouncing off logs and such. MZ also has the engine protection bars that go on the sides that would help in the event of a tipover. I have the Touratech skid plate and the MZ Protection bars on mine (worked well for mounting driving lights). I can e-mail pic's if needed. (don't know how to attach a pic yet! :D )
