Where EXACLTY is made the MZ 660 BAGHIRA

Hello guys,

I AM CURIOUS :roll: Where exactly is made the MZ 660 BAGHIRA? Were is located the Factory?

Some people that I have talk say they are made in Malasya, others that the parts are made in many countries and then assembled in Germany.

About the engine, also some people say is made by Yamaha in France, etc

Is there is a place on the frame of the BAGHIRA that say exactly were is made or assembled?
Also do your engine says were is made?

the bikes are assembled in Germany with various out sourced parts, including the yamaha engine (same as SRX660).

brakes are Italian Grimeca, rims are german BEHR, hubs from yamaha, Marzocchi forks, WP shock, Domino controls, Acerbis makes the tank...

rt125= germany sm125=germany sx125=germany fun-x125=germany

sm 125=Malasya sx125 =Malasya

the parts are from all over the world just like most bikes

most of the 660 stuff is assembled in germany but there may be some
Malasya assembly of them now or soon
and if production on the baggie continues expect a new frame and engine
in a year or so

Thats other history I am hearing, is that Yamaha is going to stop supplying engine to them. So What engine they will use on the newer version? Kawasaki?

I was looking over my bike top to bottom when I brought it home new and was amazed to see a high percentage of Italian parts on it. Things like brakelines(Fren Tubo), bodywork(Acerbis), seat(SDM), guages(CEV), forks(Marzochi), chain(Regina). Alot of these companies parts were on my 95 Speed Triple, and quite a few are on my Laverda(most everything is Italian on that one). Other than the frame and engine all the other stuff is from some other country. I remember when Chrysler used to list the percentage of the vehicle parts from whatever country of origin on the window sticker of their cars awhile back. Used to be around 60-70% U.S. and the rest Japan. Most bikes these days are probably no different?
I think Motorcyclist did a write-up on some Buell recently and showed where all the parts came from. Not much from the U.S.(engine), but alot from Japan and Italy(frame) among others, a very global bike there.

Italy has always been a strong player in the motorcycle biz since ww2

most scooters are copys of vespa or some other make from there

i use my bikes as basic transportation so the high preformance part of bikeing for me is from the parts dept ship that part in a few days
not months i rode bmw from 1969 to 2002 mainly because they did not break very often and when they did you could get the part in a timely manner
ITALY makes some very nice bikes but some of them were very hard to get parts for in a hurry and the guys that made the electical parts
took there lessons at the lucas school of electrical eng.... :-D

Do this factory in Malasya belongs to MZ? Or is a join venture with a factory over there?
Do you know the name of the Malasya factory over there?

The bike was assembled at the Factory in Germany from many different suppliers. It will not be made again in it's present form as Yamaha will not supply the same engine through it's Malayasia connection. The frame is designed and built in Germany.

Malaysia only assemble the 125SM and 125SX...they make nothing here...for now atleast....
