Rear spindle/axle which way round?

Hi.
I took the rear wheel off the Mastiff well over a week ago now, and today went to refit it together with its new sprocket and bolts, cush drive rubbers, axle nuts, polished rim and hand fitted new tyre.
One end of the axle is threaded longer than the other by about 10mm, does it matter which way round it goes back thru the hub? I`ve only had it since new.
Cheers.

Following a biased and flawed moderator choice (someone posting aggressive personal attacks is rewarded, while my technical posts are removed - behind my back & without any justification!), I have withdrawn from this forum.

Hi.
As opposed to using a tyre fitting machine.
I normally take my wheels and new tyres (tubeless ones) to a guy with a tyre fitting machine but he is closed due to Covid so i did them myself.
Yes, i looked at this image as well, no help at all.
I reckon if they made one end different to the other there is probably a good reason for it.
Cheers.

Or the guy that made the axle just tapped a bit more on one side...
Best of luck.
Actually, on my bicycles & MTBs I do not use a tyre iron. There it really is 'by hand'!

i know its a bit late but i have fitted axle both ways, ususally only the one nut ever comes loose... i have also fitted axle sliders to my axle.. i tapped holes in the axle and fitted skateboard wheels.. they usually change colour every few years, currently black...

Hi.
I decided that it didn`t make any difference but was just done to make people ask which way round it went!
Cheers.
