03 baggy worth buying

Postby vpshamm » Tue Jan 24, 2006 4:28 am

I found an 03 baggy factory demo at a dealer with about 2500 miles on it and the dealer says it still has the 2 year warrenty. He is asking just under $4000 for it. It looks like it is in good shape, the black body panels are faded and dull but don't appear to have any deep scratches or gouges in them. I will be taking it for a test ride this week. With what is happening to MZ in the US, is this bike worth considering for my first bike? Is $4000 a fair price for an 03 baggy and do you think the warrenty will be honored or will it basically be worthless?

Thanks for any advice,
Vince

$4000 is probably a fair price if they honor the warranty. However, as you are well aware, the warranty could be basically worthless. Depends upon your dealer. The more important question is will the dealer honor your MZ warranty when they stop selling MZ's...?

Where are you located? I have an '02 in exceptional condition (an honest like new condition) with fewer miles than that demo. I'd sell it to you for less. I'm in Atlanta, GA.

Good luck regardless. :)

Hey SKY, I might be interested, do you have pics available? Have a sister-in-law in Lawrenceville. You can email pics to waltk@gti.net. Thanks!

It is an '02 Street Moto (standard height) with a Hepco & Becker luggage rack. I will sell for $3900 firm and the price doesn't include the actual top box, just the rack itself. I'll include the top box for an additional $75.

Here's a pic. (Sorry for the darkness...it was late.) Let me know if you want any additional info.

This Ad has been on Craigs List for a few months....I bet the owner would DEAL......

2002 MZ BAGHIRA 660 STREET MOTO
This is one awesome bike and only reason I'm thinking about selling is I have no time to ride at all ( less than 200 miles this year )
OK this is one unusual bike. It comes from Germany, and for you who know something little about European bikes, this is the old motorcycle factory that has been around for ever and more and more popular in Europe. If you like Enduro motorcycles this bike is very similar to Euro Yamaha XT 660 Super Tenere
It actually even has a same power plant. Yes it's Yamaha. AlsoYamaha Raptor 660
About 60HP and great torque
Rides much better than Honda XL, Kawasaki DR, or even BMW GS
The Street Moto version has 17" wheels ( not 17 " and 21" off road Enduro version ) and is actually intended for asphalt
This bike was sold new for around $7,800.
THIS IS NOT GRAY MARKET BIKE. IT WAS AND STILL IS OFFICIALLY IMPORTED TO US AND IT'S DOT AND EPA 50 STATE APPROVED. DEALERSHIPS AND PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. NEAREST DEALER TO ME IS THE ONE IN MAYNARD MA
I only have around 1600 miles on mine so its practically new.
$1500 in upgrades. ( Jets M4 A/M pipe, 8 Kg spring, jets................) witch I have paperwork for and stock parts also.
Also have cover and Yellow helmet XL
52MPG
$3800/bo
