I just ordered and received EBC pads for my skorpion from cyclebrakes.com
I ordered FA126HH pads. They sent me FA 126R and insisted it was the same exact pad. The surface area looks smaller than stock. Is any one familiar with this pad? Is the stock pad available? If it is, witch one is better?

Our page #s. are different but- why did you mention Fa95? Is that an alternate pad?
Still my PDF catalog lists Fa 126 for the skorpion.
The 95 is segmented in thirds. I would assume it was for a three piston caliper. (But you know what happens when you assume)

the 2006 catalog shows fa95 for most of the mz bikes
and i do not seem to be able to find the cd i had the 2004 catalog on it

I encountered the same issue in 2009... My 1995 Skorpion Sport apparently has a single Grimeca front caliper like the right side Replica unit (with retaining wire on pad). The EBC listing called for FA126HH, which does not match the stock Ferodo pads on the bike. It matches the Ferodo FRP408, or EBC FA95HH except that neither have the wire. Is this ok to omit? It seems like a good backup to keep the pin in place.

Front or rear pads? Standard Grimeca calipers or Brembo? Skorpion Tour/Traveller or sport/replica? Standard or modified?
Did you do a search on the forum? Maybe the answer has already been posted.
Might be good to ask over at http://mzskorpion.mybb3.org/ also.
I can't help as I've replaced the Grimeca Front and Rear calipers with Brembo ones (Rear FA47 pads (P32F caliper) , front dont know yet as a set came with the caliper (P4 30/34c)).

David, thank you for the reply. Mine is a 1995 Skorpion Sport with stock Grimeca brakes. Several listings I found indicate the EBC FA126 pad for the front. As I mentioned, that does not match what I took out of the front caliper... It matches the image of the EBC FA95. My concern is the retaining wire is not included on the replacement pads, so I was curious what others do.

looking at the EBC catalogue, it must be FA95 type in whatever compound you choose.

Don't make things more difficult than they are. It has been hashed and re hashed and rerehashed who knows how many times:
the Grimeca calipers are shitty copies of the Brembo items (the Chinese can do better), in this case of the P34/30 and as such take the same pad as the Brembo clamp.
So any pad that will fit about 100 different Ducatis and Aprilias and Yamahas (they own Brembo!) and a host of others including Skorpions (all of them!) will fit.
FH95 is the right pad size.

Thank you Bill. I've read a number of your posts and know that you have a low opinion of the stock Grimeca calipers on the Skorpion. If I find a set of Brembos for a reasonable price, I will swap them at some point. In the meantime, I'll use the Ferodos. They are a more accurate match anyway. Sorry about the re-hash on this. The US and Euro catalogs from EBC still differ, making it difficult on a newbee worry-wart like myself.

I know this question has been rehashed and rehashed. But it's been a few years and I hope to add something new....

My bike is a 1995 Skorpion Sport and I need to replace its rear brake pads (Grimeca). Has anyone done it lately?

I called EBC USA and they told me to use FA47HH, which look like this:

Has anyone here used FA47HH on the rear Grimeca caliper? Do they fit?

Amazon has a horrible habit of including a picture of the wrong product when it comes to things like moto parts. If you do a Google Image search for the model number that EBC gave you, it turns up pictures of their pads with the model number printed on them.

I opted for the Ferodo FDB207ST instead. It more closely resembled the original pads in the Grimeca rear caliper.

Sad to report, i was unable to install the new EBC rear brake pads. They simply would not slip in the slots where they belong.

What can I do if the spacings between the rotor and caliper are too narrow (the old brake pads were almost completely worn out)?

Should I let out the brake fluid?

or the master cylinder not adjusted proper so fluid can not return to the reservoir.. when brake is at rest

You just need to press the piston back into the caliper. Unless it is really stuck, you can use your thumbs. It shouldn't need the bleeder opened for that.
