Speaking of antifreeze....what are you using ?

green silicate ethylene glycol type.... ( this one I don't recommend ) Alloy engine doesn't need silicates...

orange no silicates OAT formula (dexcool) , prestone brand
( so far excellent at 3 years) distilled water mix,

yellow some silicates Hybrid OAT G05 type
( newest type)

I'm not sure on these engines, but a coolant with any silcates in cases problems with the water pump seals on Goldwings. I'd rather not take the chance and use one without on all my bikes.

Kawasaki "Alumacool" mixed 50:50, with Redline Water Wetter too. The Yamaha brand coolant comes in exactly the same container as the Kawasaki, but it is already mixed. I'm not paying for water. One quart was only $5 or $6 and you only need 1.25 litres, so one was plenty although I bought two. The guys at the Yam/Kaw/Bombardier dealer recommended the Kawasaki product.

Aluma-cool is a private label for Kawa and Yama :

Don't know if it's low silicate or no silicates. I will find out...
