Am I loosing the plot

Postby funmonkee » Thu Mar 05, 2009 3:52 pm

I thought I read on here, that the baggi had a rev limiter that cuts the engine if it's over rev'd. Can anyone point me to the page? I'm sure I had the misfortunate to experience it a while back...

baggi had a rev limiter that cuts the engine if it's over rev'd.

it does, at 7200RPM, regardless of what the tach might show, standard for the both the orange and the blue (XTZ) denso box.

As far as the engine is concerned, there is no reason for such a low limit. THe earlier aircooled versions such as the srx had no limiter at all.
I have mine set to 9000. Of course I never get that far, but I don't run into the thing, either, when it is unhandy. I do regularly rev the engine - all 3 of mine - over 8000.

Thanks for the reply dudes. Despite the quirky rev limit, I'm still enjoying the bike. It's brilliant piece of kit for city riding :D
