I have heard of the single carb swap from a grizzly. But has anyone tried the 01-05 raptor carbs.
I think being a twin identical pair of CV carbs its likely to be more streetable.

Like this set - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carburetor-Yama ... 91&vxp=mtr

Thanks.

After getting my stock carbs dialed, I can't see why you'd need to swap them out unless you are building a racing motor. They are perfectly well behaved on the street and provide enough fuel and air to make around 60hp at the wheel.

Mine have a broken off float pin mount.
It seems to be OK for now. But just thinking longer term. I may wire tie the thing on a bit better and forget about it if it comes to that..

Cool.

Hello,
I'm going to try the Keihin 41 mm FCR Pumper /single carb mod !
Best thing that ever happened to a 4-Stroke single !!
Any 4-Stroke for that matter.
Anyone try this set-up ?

What intake manifold are you going to use or are you going to make one?

I think morbidelli17 used a rhino manifold with a custom adaptor(bolt hole pattern is different between Raptor and Rhino) for his FCR41 equipped race bike..thread may be in the files on this..

After many years of thinking about the raptor carbs i finally have bought a pair & will be attempting to fit them in the coming months! I also have another set of BS33's- I think off a pegasso or something but these have slightly higher tops on. I will see if they fit when its all stripped out of interest but I reckon it will be the raptor's I will go with. Apparently a worthwhile upgrade esp if u can't afford the FCR's etc! There are a few post on here about it (including one of mine from years back!) & a lot of info on the German site which I have just joined to try & get some more info! 2 big carbs gotta be better than 1 lil & a big one! :smt023

From what I remember the Raptor manifolds do not fit right. Their angle to the head is off due to the canting forward of the raptor cylinder. What a guy over here did was fit the carbs to a Mastiff by using the stock left manifold and modified the right side raptor manifold to fit...may have that reversed...cause the raptor carbs are the same diameter spigots...BiLL J will scoff at this due to them
being CV carbs, but for the street...why not try it.....oh the throttle cable will obviously need to be modified as well as the choke....again this is all from the memory of a 66 yo retiree of an article from about 5 years ago......That German forum referred to was a real help also as I recall.....

The 2 into 1 - I think its a grizzly intake, can be fit quite easily by making a couple small bracket type fitting - something like a Z bracket, except its even easier.
A piece of flat aluminum bar say 1/2 inch thick by say 3/4 wide and maybe 3/4 long, with a bolt hole @ 1 end, and the other end milled into a 1/8" step should suffice.
It is just use to clamp the manifold in 2 spots where the bolt holes dont exist in the manifold. You can hand grind it really. In fact it is better to had fit it, may kill and afternoon, but can be fit a lot better.

Cool.

I think the intake spacer will be required for a longer intake track & mounting the Yamaha intake 2 into 1.
There are a few spacers available. I'll use a Keihin FCR 41 mm pumper.
Raptor / Rhino 660 Carb. Spacer. $35.00 to $70.00 ( I have 1 coming, $35.00 Shipped)EBAY
Rhino / Grizzly 660, 2 into 1 intake manifold. $29.00 to $49.00 ( I got one for $10.00 shipped)EBAY
I'm thinking, Drill, Tap & install ? Match-Port it into shape.
Or i may cut & weld, Reshape, grind, Reweld. I have a machine shop & welding equipment. My tig set up should do the trick. ( I think Welding may Produce the best result & No air leaks down the road.)
Pod K&N filters next, toss that big ugly air box.
Would be nice to see pic's of working set-up's ??
Can't seem to find any Visuals ? ?
Anybody have Single Carb. Mod pic's ? ?

the rhino and grizzly manifold bolt pattern is completely different to the raptor(our head)you'd have to have an adaptor made up to match the bolt pattern...as I recall...

From eyeballing ... the 2-1 intake from the grizzly/rhino is not too hard to mod to fit onto MZ 660 motor. Hand makeable in an afternoon, A Z clamp if you will ... 1 bolt on the bottom of the Z and the top of the Z holding down the manifold to the intake.

Cool.

Hello All,
Since i have only seen the Scorp Single (Big Mik) Carb set-up. Much different frame.
I'm still in the dark on the FCR / Baggy Fitment ???
Love to see a Pic of a 41 FCR mounted on a Baggy ????
The Chassis / Fuel Tank issue's are Yet to be Seen ?
The Baggy has a few Frame issues, with the 2 into 1 manifold & the single carb. height. (FCR 41)
Still waiting for parts ordered.
