This should help get you started. Bill J seems to be the authority around here but he has been around a lot less over the last year or more. I think everything he has to say about these engines, almost everything, is written in these forums somewhere. You'd do yourself a favor to go to his profile page and just weed through all of his posts.

I just finished up my engine build not too long ago. Here's the basics. Tunebike(Off The Road) carb kit for the stock carbs, carb spacer plate, complete head rebuild with trail or fire road type port, Kibblewhite springs, Megacycle X4 cam, removed decomp and modified cam, 11:1 Wiseco(should have bought a piston from my machinist at Kenz Cycle Tech), removed cush gear on balancer drive and a pair of racing headers with racing can. That probably covers most of it.

The next level of mods involves lightening the flywheel and removing most or all of the counterweight on the balancer shaft. If you do the latter during the first round of mods, you don't need to modify the gear drive for that shaft.

Parts came from many sources. Give me a list of where you want to start and I'll try to help you track them down. Kenz Cycle Tech can be found online. My engine build was for a Skorp.

Just a thought mate, it may be worth checking forums to see what dirt bike guys do to their xt660z's to get power.
