look upposts by morbidell117 and bill jurgenson, both have a couple of pics I believe...Mike used a rhino manifold with an FCR41 and Bill used a TM40 Mikuni on a Grizzly manifold,
Both have to have adapter plates to match the inyake bolt pattern on the head..Eldebrock had a carb and manifold for the raptor that would work, seen them on ebay once in awhile....

Google never ceases to amaze me. I input "mz skorpion single carb" and immediately had access to pics of a single carb manifold. :D

I may have to use a Modded out FCR 44, they'll go out to 46 !
Looks like you could Gusset the frame, No problem.
How's the Nylon Spacer holding up to Heat ?
What was the max thickness on your Spacer ?
Your jetting #'s will help for a starting point.
Thanks for your Time Sir.

While it looks terrible, it is hard to weld the pipes I attached to the spacer, since you can't get a mig tip in some places. Silicone to the rescue. The polypropylene spacer was used to get the tilt right. It is beveled both ways. I never could tell a difference in taking out the brace, which gave me the room to mount everything.

This is all the pictures allowed, so I will post another with the spacer.

I just noticed my spacer picture was already in my post from 2 years ago. The other thing that made a big difference was lowering the seat. Mine tilted you towards the gas tank, and when I flipped the rear frame forward to get the stock air box out, I cut and re-drilled the support arms. That lowered the rear of the seat, and took the tilt out, without affecting the suspension.

Slightly off topic i know, but i do struggle to get my head around how home mechanics replace the factory dual carb set-up with one single large carb and apparently get better all round performance.
I can see the logic of this for racing purposes, but how people get better`off the bottom`response for picking the front end up without stalling(Due to low intake velocity with a big carb at low revs)is beyond me!

The idea of running around on a small carb at lower revs for good throttle response(Due to a reasonable intake velocity)with good economy, and a second(Larger)carb coming in for outright power makes good sense to me as it obviously did to Yamaha and MZ.

What am i missing guys?

Cheers

Morning.

Thanks David.
It`s the CV thing isn`t it!
Having had a quick internet scan,it seems (To me)a major reason manufacturers fit CV carbs is because of their ability to cope with a wide range of atmospheric conditions without adjustment-Quite handy if you are sending bikes around the world!
Possibly easier to get them through ever tightening emission regulations as well?

There are also claims that CVs will give better fuel consumption, although that doesn`t seem to be reflected by people on this forum.
CVs better for the`Ham fisted`maybe?
I can`t say i`ve had a problem with throttle response on my Mastiff,if anything perhaps a bit too much response when doing a bit of low speed off-road stuff!

Saying that,i doubt whether you would find a CV carb on a trials bike, would i?

Cheers
