Cleaned my carbs out as it's sat for about two years (bikes new to me). Weren't sat with any fuel in them so weren't tarred up or anything. It's holding back now won't rev up hits a wall about 3k. Is there a fuel filter in the tank? It doesn't have one on the fuel line. Thanks for any help.

which model mz and year are we talking about?

after doing some searching i think you have a BP

fuel petcocks are known to some times not flow fuel very fast
check to see if its free and clear

and there is a filter screen in the carb on some or all behind the float bowl needle valve
behind the needle seat

and the carb has 2 stages controlled by the throttle cables the second is supposed to kick in at 3000?? or so
not sure of exact rpm

some one will chime in and get you on track

Hi sorry yeah it's a baghira. Twin cables are for push pull. Another thought it that I only put half a litre in it (fresh fuel)

Ah sorry the rhs "carb" comes in at about 3k

Have you checked the diaphragm to see if it's sealed properly. My bike ran when I bought it but had no top end at all so I opened up the top plate on the CV carb and the lip on the membrane was pinched instead of being in the groove, meaning there was no lift taking place when the vacuum kicked in. It can be a real pain in the ass to get reseated if it's distorted from the pinch or swollen from being exposed to gas, so I had to use a very small amount of Permatex form a gasket to help hold it in place long enough to get the lid on. At first you will think you are fighting a losing battle but let it get tacky and it will hold like a charm.

Hi yeah I checked that diaphragm seems fine. Bike is really low miles and everything is really clean. I suspect it's had some tuning work done it pulls much harder than any other 660 I've ridden up to 3k then stops lol. I've noticed the secondary carb opens at the same time as the primary. When should it open any guide settings for this?

Second carb should start to lift when first carb slide has opened 6mm. Use a 6mm drill bit to get the clearance measurement. Yamaha suggest that you then check that the second throttle is horizontal when the primary is fully open.

Yes that's the one. I assume that if it's not the bracket/adjuster on the top of the carbs must be out of whack.

Been away from this for a while, my carb to head rubber has delaminated and it's sucking air in. Need a left one if anyone has one.
