Hello guys, so I'm new to this whole baghira thing. I picked up this bike the other day with only 3000 miles on it. It has been stored for a while and been sitting for a few years. She started right up and ran fine so I bought it. I got it registerd and insured and was riddin it down the road when it just died on me. Went to go start it again and the battery was stone dead so I ransomed tests with a meter after charging the battery back up and the bike isn't charging the battery. So it's either a stator or regulator from what I'm hearing. My question to you guys is... What stator will properly fit into the motor because the yamaha raptor 660 stator fits but the wiring is different. Thank you!

I remember reading that the stock regulator on the Skorpion was bad enough that some people carried extras on long trips. You might be experiencing the same problem.

check the voltage reg also ..the one on my rt125 died first day

and later the plug where it connects to the bike went bad and i took out the plug and hard soldered the connections
the white plastic was crap and the spade connectors were loose in or out of the plug body

makes it harder to test things later ....but its been 8 years and i guess that its well past "Later" by now..

Check that all of the separate wires going to the battery terminals are intact and connected properly. I found a brown wire with a small ring terminal on a 2002 Baghira last year which looked OK, but which fell apart once I removed it from the battery earth terminal.

10p's worth of ring terminal replaced and soldered on, and full charging was restored.

FWIW, I've never heard of a stator or regulator failing on one of the 660s since I became acquainted with them ten years ago.

This happened to my Baggy last year, I changed the stator and voltage regulator no change. I took it to the local mechanic and he found a broken fuse holder in the charging circuit under/beside the battery tray, 5 mins with a soldering iron and it was fixed, I had already spent £150 on new parts though :(

in working on my 3 MZ bikes the components seem to be fair to good but the wires and connector plugs not so good

I have had a lot of spade lugs break off the wires and or come disconnected because they lost there grip on the spade..
on all 3 bikes

Did you manage to sort the problem?
