MZ/MuZ Riders

I recently picked up all the fairing/headlight parts to turn my Tour into a Traveller.
question is :-
what is the weather protection like ? I don't want to fit it all up if I'm still going to get wind blasted and wet.
and
Does the Traveller have different handle bars/clip ons to the Tour , or are they the same ie with about a 2" rise.

your bars should work

but some one makes a tall upper shield for it

but expect to ride with a rain suit

and make sure the tires are recommended for rain use

where i live the pavement is very slick when wet

The Traveller fairing makes a difference to wind blast, but the screen is a little short. Skidmarx produce a slightly taller screen that's meant to help. I've not felt the need to change mine from the original one for the last 30,000 Km though.

You'll still get wet, but not as much as on a Tour. Your wettest part will be your hands - the Traveller fairing doesn't do much at all in keeping them out of the rain.

I have owned both a Tour and currently a Traveller.
I have a +4 inch Gustaffson screen on mine. Easier to duck under.
As stated, the fairing is not wide enough to prevent you getting wet. It does protect my chest a bit more in cooler temps.
I had as much protection on the Tour with an S-03 Slipstreamer wind screen on.
I like the looks of the Traveller and it already has the luggage.
But I really like the bare bones Tour also.

Looks like I will stay with the ex Police Rickman fairing that I fitted a couple of years ago, although it's bulky, it does a great job keeping the rain and wind off (just looks kind of naff). I only really use the bike in bad weather ,even though I like it a lot I like my old Commando and Trident a whole lot more.

I've seen pics of the German police bikes with the Pichler fairings. Looks like they would provide good coverage.

Thanks for that pic Bill. If I could locate one of them fairings, I'd mount it up like a shot.
The Rickman fairing that I fitted came from a Police Honda.
