need the front frame downtube

Postby riversbikes » Mon Dec 22, 2014 9:43 am

Hey all, back on this forum after a change in circumstances had me step away. Piecing together a bit of a frankenbike... mz 660 frame, xt600 engine, mito tank, r6 forks

Was wondering if anyone had a line on the front engine mount -- the stout downtube that bolts to the bracket aft of the headstock, and to the front of the engine. Let me know if you have, and how much to purchase.

Thanks in advance...

I'm in the middle of fabrication of one from Aluminum Square Stock for my project. I'll let you know how that goes if I'm done soon.

I have a junker Sport, could send you the front downtube if you strike out elsewhere. Where are you?

Got a pic of the project? I'd like to see that Mito tank on it.

Shoot! Just bought one from the UK... for a wedge of cash. Oh well. You can follow the build on my blog, and I have stolen a pic online of the mito tank, and posted it there.

Just got the frame and RG swingarm back from the sandblasters, going to fit the bearings and take some measurements for the swignarm spacers.

It is -29 celcius in my area today (Manitoba, Canada). As a holiday my wife and I are going to sunny Minot, ND, for a day or 2. Should be a balmy -19!

Aaand we are good. Thanks, Rivers!

Remember, I have a complete engine if you decide to go 660... cheap, too.
