First of all the bike is a 2000 MZ Baghira 660 supermoto. I was cruising along to work today at around 70 when the back tire decided to lock up on me. I was able to keep it on two wheels thank god and skidded to a stop on the side of the road.

Symptoms:
-Tranny is locked in gear, wont go into neutral
-Clutch pulled in it will start normally but when clutch is let out it bogs and dies
-with engine off and clutch pulled in it will not roll
-if I mess with the gear shift and rock back and forth I can get it to go maybe 1-2 feet before it locks up again (still wont go into neutral)

I'm thinking I may have blown 5th.

I have read the bottom end on the MZs are different than yamaha how would I go about replacing gear sets.

any help or advice is greatly appriciated. Thank you

Bottom end is all Yamaha. You just need to find the right parts and ratios. My guess is that the XT600 gears would work well for you.

Hi.

Sorry if you have already thought of this, but have you discounted a rear axle bearing seizure ?

Cheers
