Skorpion Sport pipe from inlet manifold

Postby timston » Tue Jul 14, 2015 3:48 pm

can anyone tell me what the pipe that runs from the rubber inlet manifold of the primary carb to the fuel pump does?

Cheers

I think its a vacuum operated fuel pump take it off
it may have been left on to get a faster slide past epa inspectors

its not needed on mz and just something to give problems on the road
it was for some models of yamaha and this tank will gravity flow
OK if lines are clear and not kinked

Dave

do save it and a drawing so if needed later at a nit picking safety inspection
says you have to have it.. even though it does nothing helpful

thanks Dave
So I can bypass the pump and just gravity feed the carb directly from the tank?

make sure tank fuel tap and inside filter are open and tank vent is open
filter behind float needle in carb
put a big fuel filter on it

do not remove bolts in tank that hold metal bracket on they turn in the plastic
take the rear bracket with the tank it is not easy ..but best way
tank swells over time and is a beast to get off and one

and have fun

its not to heavy but its not lite either

watch getting off balance at stops if you are on tip toe ...once it starts to go it gets heavy real QUICK

20 years and 75,000 miles and no issues

Likely 75percent of the scorpions are running that way
