Baghira cylinder head gasket

Hey you guys!

I've sprung coolant leak, it's coming from the overflow from my radiator, I suspect a duff head gasket or something more sinister is pressurising the cooling system.

Do I need the motor out of the frame to remove the top end or can it be stripped in situ?

if its the hose from the radiator cap area.... try a different cap it may not be holding its rated pressure

Definitely check for oil in the water, water in the oil and the radiator cap before you go tearing the motor apart. Could be a bad spring or seal on the cap.

As for the top end work while still in the frame, if it's anything like the Skorpion's situation, you can easily drop the top mounts and front mounts, loosen the rear mount and then let the motor rotate forward after removing the wheel to give you easier access. It's really not that hard just to drop the motor completely and put it on a bench to ease the job. I can't work down low to the ground due to an old injury. But I can't say for sure one way or the other with the Baghira.

Crystals had formed around the radiator where the cap fits, I tried a replacement cap before I noticed the crystals then cleaned them out with some wet & dry paper. The problem is now resolved without a single spanner.

but having lots of brain cramps of late...

the raspberry pi 2 linux computer i am setting up for ham radio keeps the old gray matter in a stur

but i still remember redheads are cute ,fun and trouble
so i pass ok for a while

do use deionised water and coolant for aluminum engines
if you plan on long time owner ship
many suzuki 750 3 cyl have died early because the water welded the things together
so they can not be fixed
