Tail light help needed.

PostPosted: Tue Sep 29, 2015 1:58 pm

Discovered my tail light isn't working, bulb is good, just not seeming to get power through the grey wire that feeds it. Any ideas where to look for a bad connection up front? My eyes rather crossed looking at the wiring diagram trying to figure out where that wire reappears after disappearing into the harness. Headlight works, brake light works, just lacking juice that powers the tail lamp. Its a Sport Cup. Any ideas where to look are appreciated.

Allow me to hijack this thread for a post.

Does anyone know where to get, or the model number for, the light switch for the rear brake pedal? My Skorpion Sport's brake light works for the front but not the rear brake. I suspect the switch is busted.

It's a pressure switch isn't it. You just need to match the threads with any banjo bolt pressure switch. I think the threads are M10x1.00. A post I read said to avoid Japanese shops because most of their switches are threaded in M10x1.25. Go to a Ducati or KTM dealership or order online.

Can anyone confirm the threads? I need a Front new master cylinder and a banjo bolt pressure switch since most available are like this.
Thanks

recently i had the same problem. By any chance did you recently unplugged the front pilot lamp?
If you did and switched the plugs you may have shorted some wires.

If not adn you want to replace the diode the rating is 6 amps 400 volts more or less P600B or highter.

What I did is took out the wiring loom and checked the wires one by one. they are prone to crackling.
If you dont want this I suggest to trace the offending grey wire from the rear to the front.

cmg241... I just ordered a banjo bolt pressure switch for my 95 Skorpion. I can confirm the thread size when it arrives :-)

I purchased this on Amazon as an almost act of desperation and it works! Cheap money and it included a clutch lever I did not need

Crap Dave I used to race an R6 on one of the most dangerous tracks in the US, NHMS. I once broke two in one day :( The nice thing about supermotos is that they weigh so little compared to "big bikes" that when they do fall, they do not tend to break nearly as much. I was taking her Baggy to a track day this weekend but had to bag out just today due the flu..
