Skorpion sport restoration

HI,

My partner has had a sport for years, about 13 k kms as I recall. She got sick and the bike has stood for years unused. Last time it was in at the mechanics they said the radiator was leaking.

I'm thinking of putting it back on the road. I have some questions if I may. If these are answered somewhere I would appreciate a pointer. I looked but couldn't find answers.

Is the radiator a yamaha item ?

Can you get parts and workshop manuals anywhere ? I found a parts listing online, but would very much like a shop manual.

Is it possible to use traveller footpeg hangers or something else to lower and bring forward the pegs ?

Where is a good place to source parts ?

I'm old so I don't fold as well as I used to :D I'm thinking of using it as a general purpose bike. Pity as it's a wonderful scratcher but I'm past that. Just a shame to see it unused...

We are in Australia.

Thank you for reading. All thoughts appreciated.

Welcome aboard. I do not think the radiator is a Yamaha part, but not sure. For the actual MZ part, you could search eBay, or check with http://www.grahamsmotorcycles.com/

Hello -

Radiator is a VW product (not sure of model) as is the paint.

Yes the foot peg hangers can be exchanged between models but you'll need to adjust/replace the shift link rod. The Tour and Traveler use the same peg hangers, Sport and Sport Cup are diferent as is the Replica.

See http://www.infomate.de/miraculis/aw/mz/ ... korpe.html for parts list. Most available in the UK at

http://www.grahamsmotorcycles.com/ for UK sourced parts.

Thank you for the responses.

Is there a workshop manual available anywhere ?

Is the radiator a VW car item ??

By the way I'm only starting the computer every few days atm, bit busy with some medical stuff.

Again thank you for your trouble.
