I have a build date 1994 Uk spec mph speedo for the sport, does anyone know if the recorded miles clock up in kilometres. I'm replacing my KPH one with this and want to change the recorded distance to match my old one...

Mine is a '98 and that is definitely kilometres, I'm pretty sure they all are. I always mention it to the tester when I get it MOT'd

I can't remember the year of my Traveller, but it was early and UK spec. The speedo was miles, except for the trip meter which, bizarrely, was km. My 2001 UK spec Tour is miles on both.

Right, back to the Cricket.

Seems like there is some variation in the years, I'll have to road test it and see. Thank you very much for the replies :-D

road test it and compare to a GPS unit

i road a 53 bmw for 15 years it was km and the speedo was a good one
my trick is take the first number on the right in the 2 digits for a km reading and times 6

like 20 km is 2x6 12 mph
50 km is 5x6 30 mph and 90 + 9x6 =54

its not exact but its close 11x6=66

my rt is ok the 660 and the 500 are mismatched odd ball units i use a GPS

Dave , that's a neat way of converting kmh to mph, was always struggling in 5/8th but your approximation is just as good for all intents and purposes, thanks :-D
