Respoking Baghira Wheels

Postby starfield181 » Sat Jul 09, 2016 10:06 am

I have a fetish over rusty spokes and invariably rebuild the wheels of my MZ 2-strokes with s/s items which were cheap as chips from Germany (though probably not just at the moment given the drop in the value of the £). Rebuilding MZ 2-stroke wheels is easy as they can be replaced 1 or 2 at a time being straight. Baghira wheels use more conventional hooked spokes like British bikes so can they be rebuilt easily 1or 2 spokes at a time or is it a total strip/rebuild job for the professionals?

If the former, where is the best place to get some s/s spokes. MZ chrome ones are rubbish.

Thanks

Hi
I broke a spoke on the rear and cannot replace it individually. The hub has to be at least loosened in order to feed in the spoke. So I believe that it is a rebuild.

I don't know of a source for ss spokes but let me know if you find one as it is on my to-do list also.

Cheers
