Mastiff choke actuation method

Hi

Is there any reason i can`t replace the current rotary `indexed`choke lever for a `traditional`friction horizontal one? The standard one requires the drilling of a location hole in the `bars to prevent rotation.

 or maybe a bicycle gear thumbthifter

I think I've seen a yahama sourced, carb mounted plunger type solution...maybe from an xt600??

Hi.

Yes i`ve seen those, expensive though.
I freed the cable at the handlebar end yesterday and was surprised how light the pull needed to actuate the `choke`was. As a result i removed the pip that engages in the hole in the bars to stop the thing rotating, allowing me to fit a pair of bars without having to drill a hole in them.
I may well fit a bicycle friction gear thumbshifter at some point though.

Cheers
