UK Skorpion Sport Throttle Cable Equivalent/Source

Postby Windmill » Sun Aug 28, 2016 4:35 am

Hi All, long time since on here due to illness but back ok now.

Just getting Skorp back on road and is ready for MOT but throttle cable just decided enough was enough. Its the one towards the front of the twistgrip looking from above.

Does anyone know of a UK equivalent cable or supplier I can get one from? Have done a search but other than one in the US I can't seem to find one anywhere. The nipple has parted company at the twistgrip end, cable is quite rusty where it attaches. May try a repair if all else fails, but wouldn't trust it again if I do.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks David.

Many Thanks David, had a look on there but couldn't find cables for some reason. Will ring them after the Bank Holiday and see what the damage is.

Do I take it the cables are specific to the Skorpion and not sourced from Yamaha or elsewhere? Have seen universal types on ebay for instance but since I've not taken them off yet, can't get measurements. Parts seem to be getting even rarer here since I was last looking a couple of years ago.
Atb David.

There's a nice cool breeze here, one benefit of being near the coast...........of course the downside is the flooding  Oh well you can't have everything! It'll soon be getting colder here, reminds me to get some more logs cut up!
