Friend bought the bike off a guy on cragslist. It's sat for a while. As in like 2 years. Hasn't been ran. So far. From what I know. They've removed the fuel pump.. shottily(bunch of vacuum hoses just chilling). If anyone could give a example of the correct way. Good start. But. For shits and giggles fill the tank and the fuel line is a horizontal line... so... feed a little fuel into the bowl till it's pretty much full and give her a few kicks and nothing. Cleaned carb. New plug. New wires. Good fuel. Good oil. New battery. But she will not fire. Any ideas of anything will be helpful. Or just simple replacement part references... I'm desperate..

Take it to a mechanic if you can't get her to fire and know that you have fuel and spark. Ask around and find the most qualified tech in your area and just pay what he asks for. If you take it to a dealership, or local shop that has all the "cool" guys, you will probably end up with bill twice as large by the time they figure out what's wrong with it. Just take your time and find the best independent mechanic with a stellar reputation. I'm guessing $500 to get it running right if nothing needs to be replaced, but it will run right. Replace the fuel petcock if you plan on doing any long wide open throttle runs because it can't flow enough fuel for anything other than slightly aggressive riding without falling behind from time to time.

Also check the kick stand kill switch if it has one. I can't remember if it does at this point since my wire harness is completely home made and doesn't have one.

But the engine in our bike is a 4 wheeler engine. ;) The guy who I sent my head off to specializes in them and actually collaborated with some of the Skorpion performance specialists when they were developing parts for the MZ. It was interesting talking to him. http://www.kenzcycletech.com/Yamaha%20660%20Raptor.htm

I bet if you go to some local meet ups of guys that don't look like mid twenties hipsters, and ride genuinely interesting bikes, they will know a person capable of doing the work. You may even have to drive an hour to find a reputable tuning facility, but someone will be able to get the job done right the first time if you are willing to pay unless you live in the middle of nowhere.
