Got my Skorpion back!

My son and I raced a Skorpion back in 2010-2011...he more than I. He wanted to move up a class so we sold the Skorpion and then he decided he didn't want to race anymore. Last month I was drinking and cruising the internet when I spotted a Skorpion for sale in Georgia. I called the guy, he sent me more pics and sure as hell, it was our old race bike! Money changed hands and a fellow racer was kind enough to throw it in his truck and bring it to me yesterday. Not only did I get my old Skorp back, the previous owner put a first class suspension on it and he has enough spares to build another bike minus an engine. All for less than half of what I sold it for!

It's nice to be back :smt006

Good story & that looks like a very nice bike!!

PS.: those rims do not seem very aerodynamic, is there any easy improvement possible?

Good question on the rims but I figure they'll be OK for vintage racing. The main thing I remember about racing this bike is that top speed is irrelevant...it's all about corner speed and drive out of the corners with that beautiful torque from a single.

It’s nice to have an ‘old friend’ back especially if you know you missed it. I was just looking at the picture and thinking what’s different about that bike as it looks softer on the eyes? It’s the lower part of the mudguard painted red, forks black and tank knee pads

Funny you say that because I thought it looked a bit different too and you hit it perfectly. This is what it looked like when I owned it before...
