First post and a new owner of an MZ 125 SM here in the UK!

I’m having some problems getting her started and wondered if anyone has a copy of the repair manual going begging at all please?

You don’t ask; you don’t get!

Thanks...

they are a pain to start if they have set for a while

take it out side and lean it against some thing on its right side so it is leaning to the right

bottom left front corner of carb is the drain screw
drain all old fuel out of tank and new fresh fuel then drain carb letting in fresh fuel
and the old stuff out

a little fresh fuel not much in the spark plug hole
then try cranking it

these things carb drys out when they set
NO SMOKING AND DO IT OUT SIDE
couple prims no run make sure you have spark at the plug
at this point its called clean the carb but also check kill switch on the handle bar
dave
note do not turn the throttle on when cranking it is very hard to start if the throttle is open
both my cars also do this if foot is on gas peddle cars fuss a lot and start hard
i typed this at 230 am my time have a nice day

Good advice, thanks David!

I’ve note taken the carb to a local garage and they’ve cleaned her right up in the sonic machine!

He said the pilot screw had been fully tightened so he’s left it half a turn out...

He’d found something in a manual to say 0.5 is correct, even though you’d normally adjust it to 1.5 as a rule of thumb...

Does anyone have access to a manual to see what it ‘should’ be set at please?

Any advice VERY gratefully received!

All the best

It's a Mikuni VM-24.
My manual says 1/4 to 1/2 turn out. I thought it was the standard 2 or 2.5 turns out and when I screwed it in more and it idled great I thought that was unusual. Now I know, and will adjust it in even further next week when it warms up.
