RT125 choke cable.

Postby Old Dog » Mon Oct 20, 2014 9:38 am

Back in January I bought a new choke cable from Graham's. You will appreciate that given it has take this long to sort out I haven't really looked at it. I went to fit it up today and I find the original has a metal elbow at the handlebar which I can see no way of removing and which is not present on the replacement.
Can anyone please advise as to whether it is necessary or not and if so how it is removed please?

Thanks very much

on mine that metal thing at the handle bar has a slot the cable can be removed
it is u shaped not a tube

take a mirror and look at it from below

these bikes have some thing done on them i have never seen on any other bikes
this is one of them on all other brands it would be a tube the cable ran in

I have this cable off and there is no slot in it nor does the small end pass through. I will check with the MZ guy at Grahams tomorrow.

Thanks

I have 4 RT125's. Three have the curved square tubing coming out of the choke assembly. The other has a top of the clutch lever mounted choke lever; no curved square tubing. All of the curved tubings are square and have a slot in the bottom for replacing the cable.---Steve

Problem resolved - well until fire up. Bike uses the SX cable arrangement with the metal adjuster. All very MZ..

Thanks for the input.
