Wotcha.

The bike did it's first "shakedown" run today. A 50 mile round trip. Only minor niggles to sort.

1. - The petrol tank is very dirty inside, or should I say "Was very dirty" - removed it and gave it a good clean. No more blocked fuel outlets, I hope.

2. - The gear lever needed moving down by about 1½" - now done.

3. - The clutch seems to be freeing off nicely now, but neutral is still tricky to find from a stand still - I'll chase some of this Silkolene Light Gear Oil and see what happens.

Here we are on a rather chilly January day, down by the river Trent at KIng's Bromley.

Had a Yamaha YM1 years ago neutral was hard to find ...if not hard to find neutral it slipped at high speed...
when sorted out the lever was not pulling the clutch cable a full stroke before it hit the hand grip
i bent the lever just a bit for more PULL Distance and the problem went away

Wotcha.

Now that the petrol tank has been cleaned out for the second time ( that'll teach me to do it properly to start with ) the MZ seems to be running fine. The right foot shift is working excellently and the neutral is getting easier to find - possibly due to me using this 'ere Silkolene Light Gear oil . . . . . . . even the lights work :-D

Hi there - are you the same lone wolf that posts on the Hitchcocks forum ?

I used to post there quite often when I had my Bullet 612 - long gone now.

I recently bought an ETZ 301 - has exactly the same leak as yours - now I knwo how to fix it !!

Cheers.

Wotcha.

Took the bike out for a 200 mile plus "shakedown" run.
Ended up having dinner at Abergavenny - taking the scenic route over the Gospel Pass.
Went into "speed crazed loon" mode on the way back - not quite sure how fast I went 'cos I ran out of digits on the clock

The bike did everything I asked of it, and still gave me around 60 mpg.
