hi all, I have a 77 ts 150 which I stripped for restoration. I tried to leave the wiring as intact as possible, but since I took the bike apart over a year ago I have totally forgotten how to re wire it. I have a Haynes manual as well as what's on the internet regarding wiring diagrams. Problem is I'm a total dummy when it comes to wiring so even the simplest diagram has me stumped. Does anyone have the idiots guide to wiring a ts150 showing what wires go where in the headlight and fuse box. Even some high res pictures that I could zoom in on would be great? cheers, John

I always find the original MZ one easy to use.

Click on it to enlarge , I had one printed out A3 and laminated.

the drawings for the early 1950's bmw were pretty good
and easy to understand

but like the electrical systems they got more complex than really needed

dave

and i just found more confusion a drawing that has the main relay labeled as 21 instead of 19 or 30

with the key switch on and a test lamp hooked to ground you should have 12volts on red black and red white at the relay
for the bike to run

cheers guys, thanks therealache for a diagram I can actually read, i'm going to make a new wiring loom, does anyone know the ampage of the original wiring? I imagine its better to get higher ampage wire than lower, but could using higher ampage wire cause any problems? cheers again.

I tend to use 2mm sq cable (17.5amp rating) because I have a load of it around ( somewhere!) but if I was wiring a bike I would probably use thinwall cable... the 1mm sq is rated at 16.5 amp and is cheaper

den seems to be the man with the electrical drawings
my problem is i have only seen about 3 of the 2 smokers in my life in person
1 at a dealer in roanoke virginia usa in 2004
and 2 at vintage days at mid ohio a few years back... guy had a pair for sale with no titles
they were cheap but i have enough trouble getting a MZ titled when i have all the paper work

den send me the 6 volt drawings in a pm and i will clean up this posting
