New ETZ owner - rear tyre?

Postby Ohowson » Sat Jan 31, 2015 10:56 am

I've just picked up an ETZ251. Needs a new rear before I stick it through an MOT - it's currently got a block C 3.50/16 on there. I'd like a reasonable mix of cost and quality, obviously, anyone got suggestions? Particularly including delivery within UK :)

Looking forward to a first ride - just need to sort tyre, mot, tax, insurance, and a bug plank to be able to get it out of my van.

That's not (quite) the right size for a 251, although some people fit them instead of the correct 3.25 x 16. The 3.50 is the correct fitment for a TS250/1.

I've been using Mitas H-05 for the last four years or so. They're as good as the best, and (almost) as cheap as the cheapest.

k66 snowtex scooter works for rear but front 300x 18 is hard to find
roads are tar and chip and very slick when wet

I ended up with the German thing the shop had. Can't remember the make - does look good but was expensive. Regretting it now as want to take it off-road so need some nobblies. Wondering about just getting a couple of spare wheels as and when I can and keeping two sets of tyres on the go.
