i changed the rear sprocket on mine from 49 to 52 tooth and gained pulling power on hills..
the joke where i live is its uphill to every where your going.
the change made the flat out top speed at REDLINE = 69mph
but only 2 roads where i live are posted over 55 mph and i very seldom go where i need to use them ...
so it works great
one of the favourite conversions in my area to a BMW R60/6 or a BMW R75/6 or R90/6
is to install the rear end from a R50/5 with its low gearing so 4th and 5th gear can be used with out
breaking the speed limits
where i live any thing over 750cc is a waste unless you pull a sidecar or a small camping trailer
and going fast is not a good idea,, as the roads are very crooked..
There is a rumor that one hot shoe rider wound up with the imprint of his number plate in his plastic face shield on
a pass threw one of our sharper corners...
if you think i am stretching it a bit.. try OHIO State Route 555 off US RT.50 about 3 miles west of Belpre OHIO
and 6 or 7 miles from my front door... its called the TRIPLE NICKLE
and runs from US rt50 north to near Zanesville ohio
nothing like the sound of an MZ RT 125 playing a song at 10,000 rpm on this road...the rt works this road to well beyond the speed limit
