SAXON TOUR on a road trip to mid ohio

Postby DAVID THOMPSON » Tue Jul 27, 2004 12:04 pm

Hello all
On the 15 to 18 of July 2004 I took a road trip on the Saxon Tour
I bought last October
I went from my home in WV to the AMA vintage swap meet at
Mid Ohio race track near Mansfield oh
Total miles was about 400 miles up/back and run around for food in town
I had a fun time
But learned that the Saxon Tour will pound your butt
It is a HARD ride the 2002 MZ RT125 is a lot slower but you don't have to
Get off to rub your buns to tell you still have them
So you can make better time on the road with the RT125
On the return trip it was raining hard and you need to slow down a bunch
It is not very good on the water
I did not fall down but sliding side ways on wet roads is not my idea of fun

The Saxon Tour is a nice bike but if you own or buy one be careful on wet
roads it will bite your ass
I have put 2027 miles on the Saxon Tour but still like the
Rt125 better

befor a trip with this bike check the hose from the top of the motor to
the oil tank in the frame and make sure it is a good one that is rated
for high temp mine melted where it goes in to the motor and i had to wrap
a rag around it to stop the oil from blowing as it requires removing the gas
tank to fix which is a big pain on the road i was 130 miles from home
and fixed it when i got home
