bleed 251

Postby DAVID THOMPSON » Fri Jan 27, 2006 7:06 pm

hello
i have never seen a 251 but in pictures they look the same as my saxon tour from 1995
the pads are ebc fa18 also used on some bmw models ??

loosen cap on handlebar being careful to dip excess from upper resevior
push the brake pucks all the way in to expell as much fluid as possible

take a pump and resivior and force fresh fluid from the pad end bleeder
up into the handle bar unit
keep checking for overflow flesh till fluid is clean

air wants to go up and bleading the old way is a pain as you force
fluid down the air goes up..... force fluid up air goes up
flush system every 2 years at least and use good type that does not
such up water

If you still having problems. fill up the brake fluid replace the cap and pull the leaver in hard and let out about 10 times. Now undo the 2 bolts that hole the calliper to the front fork. DO NOT TOUCH THE LEAVER!   Loosen off the bleed valve and rise the calliper above the height of the master cylinder . Leave it there for the night. Now tighten up the bleed valve put the calliper back on the fork and bleed the usual way.

Hope this helps.
