new clutch plates etz 250

Postby tynsham » Tue Sep 28, 2010 7:56 pm

can anyone tell me if i can change the friction plates on a etz 250 without removing the clutch from the bike. if i remove the pressure flange and top plate can the plates be removed. i have seen this done on a yamaha rd 350 and the whole process was really simple. someone told me if you do not take the clutch out from the machine and try and remove the plates then you can run into trouble as the clutch has to be facing upwards ( put in a vice and held) can i not lay the machine down on its right side and do it this way as the clutch will be in the same upright position as it would in a vice, or do i need to flash the cash and buy a clutch puller. also does anyone have any advice on the do's and don'ts when attempting this job...HELP PLEASE.....
