Certainly the barrels and heads suggest it. Got any further photographs - wondering how things like the clutch and gearbox fit into this as it raises more questions than answers.

This engine was at the DDR museum in Berlin. There was also a 500cc flat twin, like the BK350. As far as I can remember they were developed in Zschopau.
ES250 Doppelport, ES250, ES250/1, ES250/2,ETS 250, ES150, ETS150, BK350, IWL Pitty, SR56 Wiesel, SR59 Berlin, Troll............ and thats just the German two strokes!
